Jacob's Derby Race

Here's a picture of Jacob with his winning car that he worked on with Jared.....he fashioned it after one of his hot wheels .....

As always, baby Heath was happy and cheerful....enjoying the derby race with everyone else.....

slumber party

I had promised Megan and the rest of my children a cousin slumber party....so we squeezed one in just in time before the Hawthornes moved.... the above pic is of Travis and cousin Luke who slept ALL night outside on the trampoline (with Jared).....everyone else slept inside and had way too little sleep and got up way too early in the morning....you can't have a slumber party without serving a big pancake breakfast the next day which we did....

here the girls are bright eyed and bushy tailed at Jacob's blue and gold babquet....

Megan and friends

Megan found some of her friends to hang out with at baseball tryouts......otherwise I think she was on the verge of dying from boredom

Travis' Blue & Gold Banquet-Derby Race

this is Travis receiving his Bobcat patch......
Chloe and her ribbon for having such a "cute" entry
The boys in their official picture....

This is Travis with the rest of the Cub Scout Pack and local Girl Scout Troop.....

2011 Baseball Season begins

the Bartons are big ball players.....and even though Jacob and Travis are the only ones signed up this season, they all love to play as a family- even Heath

Family Picnic Day

Every year, the last day before spring break, their school does a family picnic for lunch (and then they encourage all the parents to take their children home after lunch:)) I always pick something up from a fast-food place, this year the kids requested Subway.....what they didn't tell me was that everyone else in LaCoste elementary was requesting Subway as well....It seriously took me 40mins in Subway (huge disadvantage to living in a small town) but it was lots of fun none the less....we took a big blanket to sit on and enjoyed a fun lunck together.....It was incredibly difficult to get all 5 of them in the picture at the same time, in fact, as I was leaving, I told them I wouldn't sign them out of school if they wouldnt go stand by the tree so I could get a group picture of everyone...so there you go, wise mother of five!!
