Summer Activities

I have no doubt that this will be one of our more hum drum summers....I have little energy to do more than wake up in the morning and go back to bed in the early evening....we have managed to do a couple of things and hopefully before too long all will be documented on the faithful blog....We have been swimming a couple of times....the movies with the scouts to see UP.....with Mary Ellen in town, we all went to Schlitterbaun and even had Hardin Photography take some cute pics despite the smeltering heat (our photos were @ 10AM and it was already 100 degrees-seriously!!)
We do have "plans" for July....so hopefully July will be a fun one.
I usually do my best to stay out of the camera's way when I'm pregnant...b/c I seem to be pregnant EVERYWHERE, not just around my waist, you won't find many pregnant pictures-especially @ 6 months....but, with Mary Ellen and her family in town and a willing photographer, here I am....

Travis getting ready for Kinder

Just before I got sick with morning sickness, a friend of mine and I organized a little Preschool to help our little ones get ready for school in the fall....Travis LOVED it to put it mildly....this is a picture of him and friend showing off their science lesson- planting a seed.....he was crushed to learn that I would not be able to pull it off any more...he is very excited about school and still has much to learn before we start kinder....

Visit from Aunt Sela

I have a half-sister from Mn., named Sela, she came for a visit in May and we were thrilled to visit with her...She came along with her mother in law and sister in law.....my kids had a wonderful time and talked about it for days after she left...This is us in front of the Rainforest Cafe...which was lots of fun!!

Daddy Daughter night

It is tradition for Achievement Days to do a special Daddy Daughter night in the spring.....this was the first one I had missed in years and was very sad, but I couldn't even get out of bed....I heard it was very special and I love this picture of Megan and Jared together....

Bunny Business

Here is Megan with one of her newest bunnies.....
Megan has always had an entrepenuer spirit about her....she often begs me to help her put a lemonade stand together....she also takes an inventory of all the UNUSED items in our house that we could get money for if we would have a garage sale....Even when was 4 yrs old, she made cut out flowers and wanted to sell them around the neighborhood- it made it even harder to discourage her when our neighbor gave her $5 for two flowers....she was mesmorized even then with all the potential dollar signs.....This is her first $50 she made selling her baby bunnies at Easter time....Jared and I were extremely proud of how hard she had worked taking care of her bunnies...catching her bunnies and then sitting outside selling her bunnies.....She usedher money to buy Heeleys....

Difference between boys and girls

These are pictures identifying the immense difference between boys and girls...Chloe is playing happily in the sand box, like she should be....having a good time, when she is inside, she plays with her barbie's or little babies.....
When left unsupervised, anything is possible with my two boys...shown here making their own "muscle" shirts to show how t"tough" they are.....these of course were their nice undershirts...

When they have torn up ALL of their undershirts into muscle shirts they head for the tops of the trees....every time they go up there I tell them about the time cousin Carey fell out of a very tall tree....

Jacob is so far up that my flash can't even spot him......

Derby Night/ Blue and Gold Banquet

Here is Jacob and friend from his Tiger Den showing their trophies......

This is Cub Scout Pack 471..... When the night was over, I was able to get one last shot before everyone made their way home...

Our first derby race

This was our first derby race (even for Jared), and the wonderful thing about this troop is that it is very family related, so all the activities are open for siblings....so Travis and Megan were able to participate....this is Travis watching his car race.....
Jacob and his scout friend showing their derby cars....

This is Jacob's derby car with a lightning bolt on the side......Apparently, derby car making can be a pretty big deal, and as I mentioned, this was Jared's first derby race too (despite the fact that he is an eagle)....well, the Barton derby cars were no match for some-maybe all of the other cars, so we ALL took last place- Jacob was very bothered by this, but fortunatly, we are in a small troop and he was still able to get a trophy...which apparently is all that matters when you are seven....

This is Travis' derby car....note the fine paint job

If there was an award for cutest derby car, Megan would have taken first place...but I guess boy scouts have no such category-bummer!

Derby Night

We are fortunate enough to live close enough that we get to see cousins every once in a while....

Not only did we have cousins...but both sets of grandparents were there that night to cheer Jacob on.....

Valentines

I know Valentine's Day was almost a hundred years ago....but here I am a few moons before July and I am just now posting these pictures....here is cute Megan with her heart...
She tried to teach everyone else how to make their "hearts" but looks like Jacob is the only one who came close.....

One of our Valentine activity was to make their Valentine Boxes....Megan and Jacob have theirs in this pic....

Sweetheart dance

One of the last things I did before I got sick was the Sweetheart Dance.....This year we took some cheesey pics of all of the couples at the dance.....
