Megan loves having a little sister who is more than willing to be whatever Megan wants her to be....Megan taught her a song and choreographed a dance and helped her perform it in front of the family.....Megan even had her receive an award for her "performance" Chloe loves having a sister who is so fun and imaginitive.....

We swung by grandma Houghton's after church and while we were there, I whipped out the camera for some over-due picture taking......

Sweet times

Jacob loves grandma Barton's sweet pickles, and so grandma brought the recipe over and taught us how to make her yummy sweet pickles, and Jacob couldn't be happier :) now, that we are all wanting to make more, we're hoping for a good turn out of cucumbers this fall......

the best chocolate cake ever

All of my kids LOVE to bake/cook in the kitchen.....this chocolate cake was labeled THE best chocolate cake ever on the kevin&amanda blog, so Jacob and I (Jacob LOVES chocolate!) had to put this to the test....and yes, I would definately say that this chocolate cake is YUMMY!! but Jacob and I are still open minded about trying other recipes on our quest to find the best chocolate cake EVER!! ....and yes, this is a terrible frosting job

Building a Fort

Travis and Jacob have become official carpenters......they are tackling their first job of building themselves a fort.....Megan was so impressed she wanted to "hire" them to build her and Chloe a fort ($2.50 each and a big glass of ice water)!

My Two Early Birds...

Jared and Megan enjoy (prefer) to wake up early....this has been a fact of life for some time....one that I am still not used to....for summer fun, the two have worked out a morning schedule where they (spring) out of bed-very early to go walk/run/jog.....then they return home full of early morning energy to make a big pancake and eggs breakfast for the entire family....you notice there are no pictures of this activity....b/c their photographer is NOT an early bird....nor is she even coherent the first while she is out of bed....how special for them to have this morning activity.....although I would appreciate it if they could be a little less sunshiney for those of us who are NOT early birds :)

Jared's apprentice

If you look closely, Travis has his tool belt fully loaded with dad's tools.....this day was a hot day....and Travis had spent all day helping Jared build some cabinets- all on his own perogotive....it's so cute watching Travis shadow Jared.....he is a hard worker just like his dad :)

Family Baseball

we had a fun night of baseball with a few families from our ward....Jacob loved having his primary teacher there ( Bro Davis).....

Chloe and I were in the kitchen....she was helping me with some chicken noodle soup I was making.....I had been standing next to her cutting up the celery while she was peeling some carrots....I asked her if the carrots were ready for the chopping block and she responded with....the carrots are almost naked.....what a cute way to look at carrots.....
